Why we source this

On calamansi.

Calamansi is having a moment in American food service. Filipino restaurants have led the way, but cocktail programs and craft dessert kitchens are catching on to its complexity: more floral than lime, more tart than lemon, with a rind that smells like orange blossom. The problem is supply. Fresh calamansi is nearly impossible to source consistently in the US. The fruit doesn't travel well and has a short season.

Frozen pure calamansi juice solves the supply problem without sacrificing flavor. We source from the Philippines and Vietnam, where calamansi is grown commercially at scale, and flash-freeze within hours of press to lock in the aromatic oils that make calamansi worth the trouble. 24-month shelf life means no seasonality, no waste.

Filipino restaurants stock it for fresh-squeezed-quality calamansi juice service and as the base of traditional dishes like kinilaw and adobo. Cocktail bars use it in sours, margaritas, and whiskey drinks where a more complex citrus changes the whole profile. Bakers use it in cheesecakes, tarts, and glazes.

Common questions

About our calamansi.

What exactly is calamansi?+

Calamansi (also spelled calamondin) is a small citrus fruit native to the Philippines. A natural hybrid of kumquat and mandarin, it's tarter than lime, more aromatic than lemon, and essential to Filipino cuisine. The Tagalog name is kalamansi.

Calamansi vs lime: what's the difference?+

Calamansi is tarter and more floral than lime, with a more complex aroma. It's also smaller and seedier. In cocktails, calamansi adds a signature Southeast Asian note lime can't replicate. For cooking, it's sharper and more fragrant.

Is your calamansi juice 100% pure?+

Yes. Single-ingredient: pure calamansi juice. No water, no added sugar, no preservatives. What you get is what came out of the press.

How do you ship frozen calamansi?+

Shipped frozen from our Austin, Texas warehouse. 2–5 day delivery nationwide. Pallets ship LTL refrigerated; cases ship via frozen parcel with dry ice.

What's the minimum order?+

Listed SKUs can be ordered online by the case through DeliveredCold. Pallet pricing is 120 cases with a 17% discount before freight; message us on WhatsApp for a quote against your actual volume.

Can I get fresh calamansi instead of frozen?+

We don't currently ship fresh calamansi. The product quality doesn't hold up in trans-Pacific shipping. Flash-frozen juice is a closer match to fresh-pressed than any fresh calamansi you'll find in the USA.
